What is Ba Den Mountain?

Ba Den Mountain is a 986 m sacred peak in Tay Ninh, 100 km from Saigon and the highest point in southern Vietnam. A day there means cable cars to the summit and the Lady Pagoda, then the noon prayer at the Cao Dai Holy See. With a local guide you get more than the photo: the Black Lady legend, and what the Cao Dai prayer means.

On our tours the cable cars, the entrance tickets and every other cost are already included — you never open your wallet.

Van Son peak, 986 m, crowned by Tay Bo Da Son: a 72-metre bronze statue of the Bodhisattva of Compassion. The cable car climbs from the plain in about eight minutes.

The Lady Pagoda

Linh Son Tien Thach Tu, about 300 years old, sits at 350 m on the mountainside where the Black Lady is worshipped. Pilgrims climbed to it long before any cable car.

The mother temple of Cao Dai, a faith born in Vietnam in 1926. At noon, rows of worshippers in white robes pray to music beneath the painted Divine Eye.

Shared group tour vs. private tour

Shared group tours suit travellers who are happy to follow a big group on a fixed plan. Here is what actually changes when the day is yours.

Shared group tour

  • One guide shared by a coach of 15–20 guests
  • Fixed route and timetable — no changes on the day
  • Around an hour on the mountain, squeezed between coach timings
  • Entrance tickets and fees often paid on the spot
  • Pickup from a tour office or two central districts, and a lacquerware-shop stop is common

Fixed plan · extras paid on the day

Your private day with us

  • Just your group of 1–4, with a licensed local guide fluent in English
  • Your route and pace — any itinerary can be changed on request
  • Time for both cable car lines, with lunch and drinks included
  • Every ticket and every cable car pre-paid
  • Picked up and returned to your hotel — no shop stops, in writing

Made for your group · everything included

Questions people ask before booking

Is Ba Den Mountain worth visiting?

Yes, if you want the highest viewpoint in the south and a living pilgrimage site in one day. It is busy and quite developed, with cable cars, a modern summit plaza and crowds at weekends and after Tet. Go on a weekday morning for the clearest views, and pair it with the Cao Dai noon prayer to make the long drive worthwhile.

How far is Ba Den Mountain from Saigon?

About 100 km northwest of central Saigon, usually two to two and a half hours by car each way depending on traffic leaving the city. That is why it works best as a full day rather than a half day.

What exactly is included in the price?

Private car with driver, a licensed local guide who speaks fluent English, hotel pickup and drop-off anywhere in Saigon, all entrance fees and cable cars, and meals with drinks as listed on each tour. The only things not included are personal shopping and optional tips.

Can I cancel or reschedule?

Yes — free cancellation up to 3 days before departure for a full refund, and free rescheduling subject to availability. Within 3 days of departure, 30% of the tour price is charged because the car and guide are already committed.

Can the tour be tailored for children, older parents or our own interests?

Yes — every itinerary can be adjusted. Tell us who is travelling and what you enjoy, and we will change the stops and the pace to suit. The cable cars do the climbing; on the mountain there are short paved paths and some flights of steps, and your guide can plan around them.

How do I pay, and when?

Two ways: pay the full price online by card, or pay a 30% deposit online and the rest in cash on the day of the tour, in US dollars or Vietnamese dong. We can also send a secure payment link on WhatsApp. The booking is confirmed once the online payment goes through, and your pickup time and guide’s name arrive in writing.

How far ahead should I book?

A few days is comfortable in the busy months from December to April; at quieter times next-day requests often work. Message us and we will tell you honestly what is still open.
